District 15 Champions Represent at State Tournaments

Before we head into the next wave of State All Star Tournaments, let's bring everyone up to date on the progress and results of our District 15 Champions competing across the Commonwealth. Our 8-10 Baseball Team from King William LL was the Runner Up in their Pool and won their first game in the Elimination Bracket over Chesterfield (8-9) but lost to eventual Champion D4 Vienna. Well done, boys, we're proud of you. In the 8-10 Softball Championship, our girls from Richmond... County LL were also Runners Up in their pool and defeated Central Accomack in the Elmination Round but fell to McLean LL, also the eventual State Champion. Great showing, girls. Our District 15 Intermediate Baseball Team from King William played well but was eliminated after two games in Scottsburg (District 2), but they vowed to be back next year. We need to continue to grow this division in the District. Good job, boys. The D15 Junior Softball team from Northumberland County LL lost their first game to Lebanon LL but fought their way to the Elimination Bracket final where they faced Lebanon again, who outscored them again only to lose to D5 Atlee in the Championship Game. The girls should be proud of their first District Championship and great showing at State. Something to build on for next year, ladies. Our Senior Baseball Team from Caroline County faced the eventual Winner's Bracket winner in the opening round (Fort Hunt) and were pushed to the Elimination Bracket. They defeated Manassas Park but were eliminated by Central Chesterfield LL. The District 15 Senior Softball Team from Richmond County LL won their first two games in the Double Elimination Tournament in Richlands (D-11) but was forced into the Elimination Bracket by a very strong team from Washington County. They won their next game vs. Richlands LL which allowed them to face Washington County again in the Championship Game - which they took to 12 INNINGS! The game was tied at 1 going into the top of the 12th when Washington County scored 5 more runs; Richmond County couldn't answer in the bottom of the inning and ended up being the Virginia State Senior Softball Runners Up. Great job, ladies, we're proud of you and all of our District 15 Champions who represented us so well across the State. Thanks.
